KANSOLENDAR / macOS

Install Kansolendar.

Get the application from its GitHub release. Choose the DMG, rather than a source-code archive.

  1. Download the .dmg

    Open the latest release and select the file ending in .dmg. “Source code” archives are not the ready-to-use app.

  2. Move it to Applications

    Open the DMG, drag Kansolendar.app to Applications, then eject the disk image.

  3. Open the app

    Find Kansolendar in Applications. If macOS blocks opening, follow the first-opening instructions below.

  4. Create a calendar file

    Name your .kanso file and choose where to save it. Use a unique password of at least 15 characters and keep it safe.

The app is ad hoc signed, without Developer ID signing or Apple notarization. macOS may block its first opening.

  1. Download only from the repository release and decide whether you trust its source.
  2. Try opening it from Applications. Dismiss the alert without moving the app to the Trash.
  3. In System Settings → Privacy & Security, find Kansolendar and choose “Open Anyway”.
  4. Confirm and authenticate if asked. A new version may need authorization again.

Do not disable Gatekeeper globally. Do not bypass a warning that the app is damaged or will harm your Mac. Download again or report the problem. For a managed Mac, ask its administrator.
